MORE than £4,000 has been donated to four charities following the success of the popular Music For You concert.

The annual extravaganza, which is sponsored by the Shuttle/Times & News, was held last October.

Donations totalling £4,600 were presented to Kidderminster Hospitals League of Friends, Cancer Research UK, Kemp Hospice and North Worcestershire Bereavement Support.

Richard Woodhead, committee member, said: "The spirit of the founders of Music for You continues each year, when our audiences enjoy an evening of excellent entertainment.

"Through their kindness and generosity, they allow us to continue supporting the work of national and local charities."

This year's concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 3 and 4.

On the bill for the two-day event are Stourport Brass Band, the Valentines, West Midland Light Orchestra and Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra.

The soloist will be Jonathan Darby, while Peter Tomlinson will be MC. Tickets for the event will be available from September.
