SVR ghost trains sell out

FOUR nights of Hallowe’en ghost trains on the Severn Valley Railway sold out this week despite an increase in the number of seats available following a sellout last year.

The Kidderminster-to-Bridgnorth steam railway ran the first of its ghost trains last Wednesday last week, followed by three more, last Friday and Saturday and on Hallowe’en itself, tonight.

All 1,200 seats - 300 more than last year - were booked. SVR marketing manager Clare Gibbard said: “We seem to have found the right pitch, though we will have to think again about running further additional Hallowe’en trains next year to satisfy the demand.

“That said, the relatively mild weather of recent days has almost certainly helped to push ticket sales.”
