Residents asked to comment on Wyre Forest planning policy

WYRE Forest residents are being asked to comment on how they will be involved in the planning process.
The district council’s “statement of community involvement” (SCI) forms part of the local development framework (LDF) and was originally adopted in May 2006 but now needs updating.
It explains the process the council will follow when consulting on planning policy issues or applications for planning permission.
The change is needed because of several changes in the planning process, such as changes to legislation, changes to how consultation on planning applications is carried out and the introduction of neighbourhood planning.
A public consultation on a draft updated SCI will run from tomorrow until Friday, December 14.
Conservative councillor Anne Hingley, cabinet member for place-shaping, said: “The revised SCI clearly sets out how we will engage with key stakeholders and the wider community on planning matters.
“I encourage everyone to have their say on how they want to be consulted on planning issues.”
