Flooding advice available to Wyre Forest residents

RESIDENTS and businesses in Wyre Forest are being urged to take advantage of advice available from Worcestershire County Council and the Environment Agency to ensure they are prepared for the potential risk of flooding.

Through being aware of the risks and what to do before, during and after a flood, financial costs of replacing damaged items and emotional costs of losing damaged possessions and irreplaceable memories can be minimised.

The county council's website has a dedicated section at worcestershire.gov.uk/flooding.

Information includes advice on how to plan for flooding, sign up to warnings and prepare homes or businesses for floods plus specific guidance for riverside properties.

There are also details on how to report day-to-day problems, such as blocked drains and burst pipes plus a link for residents to report flooding problems online.

The Environment Agency has advice and guidance available to view at environment-agency.gov.uk/flood. Support on offer includes free flood warnings, personal flood plans and information on flood products.

Anyone unable to visit the website online can also call the Worcestershire Hub on 01905 765765 for information.
