Visiting restrictions still in place at Kidderminster Hospital
7:10am Wednesday 9th January 2013 in News
VISITING restrictions at Kidderminster Hospital are still in place as the county’s healthcare system continues to fight cases of norovirus.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is asking members of the public to avoid Kidderminster Hospital as well as the Alexandra in Redditch and Worcestershire Royal Hospital unless the visit is essential.
Only immediate family members and a maximum of two visitors per patient at one time are permitted to visit the hospital.
The Trust has also asked that there be no visitors under the age of 16, in order to prevent the bug spreading from schools, nurseries and play groups.
All three Worcestershire Acute Hospitals are continuing to make progress in bringing norovirus under control but there are still cases where relatives and friends have brought the bug into hospital because they have not stayed away long enough to be clear of the infection.
Outpatient appointments are not affected unless the patient is suffering symptoms of norovirus.
