Pensioner dies after nursing home fall

AN elderly woman has died after falling at a Dunley nursing home.

Ivy Barton, 85, was admitted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for surgery after the fall at Dunley Hall Residential Home but she died on December 29 after being discharged from the hospital.

An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned awaiting reports.

Another Unsafe Discharge from Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Getting to be a Habit!!. OOpps was this poor old lady with Dementia Blocking a Bed!. Seems so. About time your staff had more training in how to deal with dementia, and perhaps they would not be so quick to discharge just because they cant cope with it!!!. And how about the discharge team!!! shame on you!. Just take the easy way out, send them back to the Rest Home!!, Trouble is rest homes are not nursing homes, get it right , and make sure these wonderful older people are discharged responsibly. Dunly hall im sure did there best for this lady, but Shame on you for discharging her!!!!!!
