Free health checks for Worcestershire residents
7:30am Thursday 10th January 2013 in News
HEALTH checks are being offered free of charge for Worcestershire residents by the county’s Health and Care NHS Trust’s health trainers.
The health MOT checks are being offered to help people stay healthy this year.
The Worcestershire Health Trainer Service offers support and advice for anyone aged 16 or over.
Health Trainer co-ordinator, Jayne McCullough said: “Many people want to lose weight as part of their new year’s resolution.
"It is hoped the checks will help people have a greater understanding of their own health as well as prevent any illnesses and promote good health.
“For those people who are found to be at risk it allows them to make lifestyle changes to help prevent future illness.
“Health trainers start off by doing an initial one-to-one assessment and then go on to listen to what changes people want to make in their life and encourage them to set goals to achieve them.”
