Four injured in crash

FOUR people have been injured following a road crash involving a car and a van in Far Forest.

It happened on the A456 at the junction with the A4117 shortly before midday.

Two men were taken to hospital after suffering leg and head injuries, while another man and a woman were treated at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a car and van had collided.

“Two men in their 20s were extricated from the van and treated for head and leg injuries. They were immobilised at the scene before being transferred to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

“A further male in the van was treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require further hospital treatment.

“The car driver, a woman believed to be in her 50s, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and she did not require further hospital treatment.”

The junction you mention above is actually in Callow Hill, not Far Forest.

It wasn't at the junction it was half a mile up the road towards Rock. The collision might have been due to the road being icy. Hope everyone is OK. Please lets not discuss speed limits or traffic calming!

The accident I saw was later - maybe just before 11.00 a.m.

It looked like a very nasty head-on between two cars. Police and ambulance were in attendance and the road was impassable for some time.

Surprised not reported in the Shuttle.

A bit concerning, if there were two separate accidents on the same road within a short period of time. I have noticed that 'Ice' warning signs have been put out in recent weeks on some roads.
