COFFEE and cakes were on the menu at a Kidderminster school during an event to highlight the need for integration between different generations.

Six year 11 King Charles I School pupils organised and ran a coffee morning as part of their citizenship studies.

Guests included Dr Richard Taylor and Liberal Wyre Forest councillor Fran Oborski, along with members of the Old Carolians Association and ex pupils of the school.

Students arranged for headteacher Tim Gulliver to give an introductory speech, which was followed by a tour of the upper school site. Guests also saw a variety of lessons, pupils’ work and learning resources.

The school is hoping to hold the same event in the summer term with a broader range of people from the local community.
