Boy and woman injured in Stourport motocross collision

A YOUNG motocross rider and a spectator have been taken to hospital following an incident in Stourport.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident at a motocross event at Wilden Top Road shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews were called to reports of a motocross rider who had left the race track and had been in collision with a spectator.

“The rider of the motorbike, a boy believed to be 11 years of age, was treated for wrist and stomach injuries. The boy was immobilised and conveyed, via land ambulance, to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

“The spectator, a 30-year-old woman, was treated for a fractured right leg and suspected pelvic injuries. The woman was fully immobilised before being airlifted to the same hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

i was at this meeting it was a practice were a woman walked on to the track without permission into the path of a 7 year old. it is a resposible moto cross meeting at a council permitted track, and the bike didnt go in to crowd
