Hard work: John Wilkins of Bewdley Fire Station receives his certificate for completing the firefighter development programme.
BRAVE Kidderminster and Bewdley firefighters were among those recognised at a fire service “celebration of success” event.
Nearly 40 Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service staff members were recognised at the ceremony held at the Guildhall in Worcester.
Station commander Neil Pigott hosted the evening with chief fire officer Mark Yates presenting employees with a framed certificate to recognise their individual achievements.
Kidderminster-based watch commander Simon Cusack received a certificate for completing a diploma in immediate medical care with the Royal College of Surgeons.
Three Wyre Forest firefighters were also recognised for successfully completing their development programmes - they were Christopher Tarr and Mark Swansborough from Kidderminster fire station and Bewdley-based John Wilkins.
Mr Yates said: “This celebration of success event gives us a chance to formally congratulate members of staff on a range of personal and professional achievements.
“Everyone who was presented with a certificate has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to their learning and self-development, often alongside their main role with the service.
“They deserve to be recognised for their commitment and hard work and I sincerely hope they enjoyed coming together in this way with their colleagues and their families to celebrate their achievements.”
