KIDDERMINSTER and District Lions Club has given nearly £3,000 to Wyre Forest good causes.
The club distributed £2,780 to nine organisations and groups which was raised from the Kidderminster Santa tour in December.
Groups that have benefited from the funds include Stourport and Kidderminster cricket clubs, Wilden Village, Kidderminster Lions and Phoenix Ladies football clubs, Harkaway scout group, Samurai Judo club, Kidderminster Central District Rangers and the Brookside Children’s Centre in Kidderminster.
The money has been distributed between these groups to thank them for their help in assisting the Santa tour and to support their junior and youth activities.
The club has also issued a reminder that the New Year’s Day duck race has been rescheduled following bad weather to Easter Monday, April 1. Organisers hope to beat last year’s record of 820 ducks being purchased for the race.
The Lions club is holding a membership drive at the end of the month.
