Man and woman deny trying to sell fake gold
8:30am Tuesday 26th February 2013 in News
A MAN and woman are to stand trial on charges of trying to sell fake gold in stores, including one in Kidderminster.
Robert Catalano, 37, of Worcester Road, Dudley and Stephanie Reeves, 41, of Willenhall Road, Bilston, deny two charges of fraud by claiming the items they were trying to sell to Peplows jewellers in Worcester in June last year were nine carat gold.
They also deny a similar offence at Cash Converters in Kidderminster in May last year.
Catalano, also denies similar offences in April last year at the Cheque Centre in Halesowen, and at Cash Converters in Kidderminster in May.
He has also pleaded not guilty to a charge of having articles for fraud, namely a necklace made of yellow metal and a hallmarked clasp of nine carat gold.
Both were granted bail and are due to return to Worcester Crown Court for trial after April 2.
