A FORMER reservoir in Kidderminster has been sold for residential development, with 14 executive new homes planned for the area.

Worcester-based agents Halls and Lambert Smith Hampton’s Birmingham office acted on behalf of Severn Trent Water (STW) in the sale of the 4.1-acre site on Sutton Park Road to housebuilder David Wilson Homes Mercia.

David Wilson Homes is building 14, five-bedroom detached houses. The properties will be set within garden plots with car parking.

The site, known locally as Sutton Park Reservoir, had existing outline planning permission for 14 houses when the site was brought to the market. David Wilson Homes varied the consent with a fresh planning application for 14 large detached executive homes, which was approved by Wyre Forest District Council last October.

Construction work is already under way and will be completed by summer, 2014.

Halls partner Rob Champion said: “We are delighted to have concluded the sale of this valuable development site. The quality of the location and the fact that the site already had outline planning permission resulted in a significant level of interest from developers.”
