Free bike marking session at Asda

A FREE bicycle marking session will take place at a Kidderminster supermarket to help combat theft.

Asda, in New Road, Kidderminster, will be holding the event with West Mercia Police Partners and Communities Together on Saturday, March 9.

Shoppers will be able to take their bikes to the store between 10am to 2pm to have them marked with UV pens and stickers which can be used to identify them if stolen.

Community champion Mel Foster at Asda said: “We wanted to give something back to the community.”

Customers will also have the chance to win a life-size cardboard cut-out of James Bond to help raise money for Cords4life.

The charity, set up by Charlie Harris-Beard’s parents Joe Beard and Fiona Harris, aims to raise awareness of umbilical cord donations.

Tickets can be bought in store throughout this week and next with the draw taking place on Sunday, March 10.
