Sight loss charity issues urgent volunteer appeal
7:50am Monday 11th March 2013 in News
Just one hour: Sight Concern’s chief officer Jenny Gage launches the campaign.
A SIGHT loss charity has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers to help in its Kidderminster branch.
Sight Concern Worcestershire offers support, advice and activities for people with sight loss in Kidderminster and needs volunteers to help continue to run the service.
Jim Smith, head of community branch services for Sight Concern, said: “We desperately need more volunteers to help to run our monthly group that provides a hugely valuable lifeline for people with sight loss in Kidderminster.
“We need people to do a range of jobs from making tea and talking with visitors to driving people around for recreational visits.”
Sight Concern has also launched a nationwide campaign called Just One Hour, asking people to volunteer an hour a week to help people with sight loss.
