Academy at Kidderminster holding open evening

THE Academy at Kidderminster is holding an open evening for prospective students who wish to enhance their career prospects or learn a new skill.

The event will be held on Thursday and is aimed at helping would-be students choose the right course, hear about the many free courses available and explore funding options.

It will take place between 4pm and 7pm at the academy in Weavers Wharf.

The Academy at Kidderminster is a partnership between Birmingham Metropolitan College and Kidderminster College.

Jane Smith, director of the Academy at Kidderminster, said: “This open event is a fantastic opportunity to see Kidderminster Academy’s wonderful facilities.

“Spring is often a time that people start to think about new beginnings and investing in their future.

“Anyone who is thinking about their next steps should come along and find out more.”

The £10 million academy opened in September 2012 and features fashion studios, 3D scanning and printing facilities and work spaces for food and food technologies.

The academy provides education and training for up to 1,000 16-18 year-olds and adult learners.
