Football fan charged after Kidderminster 'racist abuse' claim

A FOOTBALL supporter from Derbyshire has been charged following a claim that racist abuse was directed at a player during a Kidderminster Harriers game at Aggborough Stadium in February.

The 34-year-old man from South Normanton was arrested and charged on Friday with racially aggravated harassment under the Crime and Disorder Act.

He was released on police bail to appear at Chesterfield Magistrates Court on Wednesday, March 27.

It follows a joint investigation by Derbyshire Constabulary and West Mercia Police following the Blue Square Premier League game between Kidderminster Harriers and Alfreton Town on Saturday, February 23.
