'Thoughts with canal death girl's family' - Wyre Forest MP

WYRE Forest MP Mark Garnier has said his thoughts are with the family of a six-year-old girl who died after falling into a canal in Kidderminster.

On twitter, Mr Garnier wrote: "Tragic story this morning. My thoughts are with the family and the emergency services."

Police are continuing investigations into the incident and the girl's family are said to be "absolutely devastated".

Emergency services were called to the incident in Springfield Park just before 6.20pm last night following reports three children had fallen into the canal.

The three children were all rushed to hospital but the six-year-old was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The two other children are expected to make a full recovery.
