SOMETHING spooky’s going on at Drakelow Tunnels to raise money for a former Big Brother contestant’s charity.

Steve ‘The Baron’ Gill has organised a celebrity ghost hunt to raise money and awareness of his charity, Baron Motorsports, which helps disabled people experience the thrill of motorsports.

The event will be held overnight at the tunnels next Friday.

Medium Ian Lawman, as seen on Most Haunted, and actor George Newton, of This is England, will also be taking part in a bid to find the ghosts and ghouls of the former nuclear bunker.

The event will feature a mediumship walk-around with Mr Lawman, a seance and energy experiments.

Director of Mysteria Paranormal Events John Blackburn, who is hosting the event, said: “I’ll be doing the experiments to find spirit energies. It will be quite interesting, a lot of people get freaked out by it.”

Mr Gill set up Baron Motorsports after appearing on Channel Four’s Big Brother.

He lost both legs and an eye in a bomb attack in Northern Ireland in 1989 and now helps to mentor younger amputee’s injured in Afghanistan and Iraq.

His fundraising efforts have included crossing the Atlantic by boat as part of a crew made up entirely of amputees.
