WYRE Forest District Council is running its first farmers’ market next Wednesday.

The event, which will feature a range of food, drink and jewellery, has been organised by the council in partnership with Worcestershire farmers’ market group, which has more than 12 years’ experience in the markets throughout Worcestershire.

The event will be held in the foyer area of the district council’s headquarters, Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster. If successful, it might take place monthly.

Council leader, Conservative John Campion, said: “This is a marvellous idea and there are some wonderful items on offer. We hope the event is a huge success so we can host similar events in the future.

“This is a great opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves and consumers to purchase some high-quality goods.”

The farmers’ market is on between 10am and 3pm. Contact the district council’s town centres’ manager on 01562 732534 for more information.
