Derelict building to become flats
8:00am Saturday 17th August 2013 in News
ELEVEN flats will be built on the site of a derelict 20th century warehouse building in Stourport after plans were given the go-ahead.
The Riverside building, at the former Carpets of Worth, in Severn Road, will be demolished and replaced by the homes under the plans. The flats would be made up of six one-bedroom and five two bedroom properties.
More than 150 houses and flats are set to be built on the former Stourport carpet factory site after ambitious proposals were given the go-ahead last year.
Locally listed buildings, Gatehouse and Whitehouse, will also be brought back into use.
The plan for 11 flats at Riverside Building was approved by Wyre Forest District Council planners at a meeting on Tuesday. It had been recommended for delegated approval.
