1:47pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
CARPET firm Brintons has announced a £2 million investment in its Kidderminster business to enhance its manufacturing operations.
A company spokeswoman said it was part of a £5 million project which will see 10 looms upgraded with high definition weave technology – four in Kidderminster, six in Portugal.
It is in addition to the £3 million boost announced for the business in March this year.
Don Coates, managing director, said: “This investment demonstrates the board’s confidence in the future of Brintons and its commitment to achieving truly world-class standards.
“This is a fantastic investment in engineering resource that will enable Brintons to expand new business growth initiatives such as rugs, while at the same time reducing waste and improving efficiency.”
High definition weave allows carpets and rugs to be woven in up to 32 colours and create photo-realistic images on short runs.
