School leavers options change
9:47am Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
THIS year’s school leavers have already been thinking long and hard about what to study next following a change in the law.
This summer’s Year 11 leavers are the first year to have to continue participation in education or learning once they have finished their GCSEs.
They will have to make a choice about where they are going to undertake further study, with options including attending a sixth form, a further education college or embarking on a work-based study programme or apprenticeship.
Work without formal accredited training orbeing unemployed will no longer be an option.
