Kidderminster man awaiting sentencing on sex charges
7:00am Tuesday 10th September 2013 in News
A KIDDERMINSTER man accused of sexually assaulting young girls when he was just nine years old himself has been remanded in custody to await sentence.
Blake Bingham, now aged 21, would tell them they were just "playing a game" before getting them to climb into bed with him, Worcester Crown Court heard.
After a trial, a jury found Bingham, of Larkhill, guilty of one charge of attempted rape and five charges of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13.
They cleared him of one count of rape, two further charges of sexual assault of a child under 13 and one of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The attacks took place between May, 2002 and February, 2009.
In a video interview, his victim said that on one occasion Bingham had found an adult movie among his mother's belongings and tried to re-enact some of the scenes.
She said she was at first school at the time and didn't understand what was happening to her as she was too young.
"I knew it was wrong - I knew it shouldn’t have been happening," she added.
"I don't know why I didn't say anything. I just kept it in. I wish I had said something now."
Bingham was remanded in custody while a pre-sentence report is drawn up.
He will be sentenced on October 28.
