Dementia awareness evening to be held at Stourport care home
6:50am Wednesday 11th September 2013 in News
A CARE home in Stourport will be holding a free dementia awareness evening as part of Alzheimer’s Month.
Ravenhurst Residential Care Home, in Lickhill Road North, is inviting people with dementia, their carers and families to the event on Monday at 6pm.
Samantha Wood, a dementia support worker from the Alzheimer’s Society, will be on hand to answer questions about dementia care and offer advice about the support available to people in Wyre Forest.
Alzheimer’s Month is a worldwide initiative which runs for the duration of September. This year’s theme is Dementia: A Journey of Caring and encourages people and organisations to hold events to raise awareness and challenge stigma.
There will be tea, coffee and cake available at the event which will finish at about 7pm.
