THE pharmacy department at a Kidderminster supermarket has raised nearly £600 in a sponsored weight loss challenge.
Twelve members of staff at Sainsbury’s in Kidderminster lost pounds to gain £577 for two charities.
The staff members started the challenge during the changeover between the store’s charity partners and decided to split the money between them.
They gave £270 to the store’s previous charity partner Hand on Heart, which raises awareness of cardiac arrest in young people, and £307 to current charity partner Severn Area Rescue Association, the local river and land rescue team which is ran by volunteers.
The weight loss challenge lasted 10 weeks and staff lost a combined weight of 7st 4lbs.
The four colleagues who lost the most weight were Nick Lallie, Donna Hall, Sabrina Spicer and Melanie Hill.
