Advice on offer at Wyre Forest's first Energy Day
7:50am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
MONEY-saving advice will be on offer at Wyre Forest’s first Energy Day.
The free event will be held at Kidderminster Town Hall by Wyre Forest District Council and Wyre Forest Citizens Advice to give people advice on their energy bills on Saturday, October 26.
One of the organisers Katrina Willets said: “We wanted to bring energy organisations and companies together under one roof to give the people of our area the opportunity to source the best deals for their energy.
“Household energy and fuel bills are rocketing and at Citizens Advice we know that there are many ways to save money and cut the bills. It all seems so confusing and many people don't know where to start”.
Experts on gas, electricity, oil, wood and solar will be at show for people to find out how they could save money and make their homes more energy efficient.
There will also be information on grants available to help with the cost of a new boiler, new windows, loft insulation and draught excluders and there will be more information on the Green Deal.
Twenty five stands representing energy companies and organisations will be on hand to talk about switching tariffs.
Visitors are also invited to bring along their energy bills to see what savings can be made.
There is also face painting, competitions and entertainment on the day including Bewdley and Kidderminster’s Rock Choir and a Kidderminster College flash mob.
Any donations will go to Citizens Advice, a registered charity. The event will take place between 11am and 3pm.
