ALL things harvest will be celebrated in Bewdley this weekend.

The town will be holding a harvest fair for the third year, on Saturday and Sunday, and this time it will be highlighting local produce, traditional arts and crafts, live music and dance.

At 11am on Saturday, there will be a parade of Suffolk Punch horses from Trimpley. The animals will make their way from Stourport Road, through the main town before arriving at the Guild Hall.

The popular soup trail will also run from noon until 4pm and seven of the town’s chefs will be competing to win the coveted Bewdley Soup Trail Trophy.

Soup “visas” – with a family Severn Valley Railway ticket up for grabs – can be picked up from the Deli@Bewdley, Load Street or the Bewdley Farm Shop, Dog Lane.

Venues taking part include the Woodcolliers Arms, Clementines Coffee and The Little Pack Horse.

Pomodoro, The Mug House, The Hop Pole and Paisley Flour Catering will also be dishing up their creations.

There will be crafts and activities to try over the weekend at food stalls on Severnside South and in Bewdley Museum.

Sunday will bring an all-day dance festival and Wytchwood Morris dancers will perform at four locations in the town. The monthly Bewdley Local Produce Market will also take place.

Live music will light up Jubilee Gardens, with singer song-writer Jennifer Cook performing as part of a trio.

The Community Orchard in Jubilee Gardens will be home to apple pressing, woodland craft demonstrations and a display of rare breed pigs from Wyre Forest Community Land Trust.

Conservative councillor Ian Hardiman, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for community wellbeing, said: “Harvest time is a great chance for everyone to get together and celebrate all our local produce.

The event will also showcase our local talent, giving new visitors the chance to really get to know what’s at the heart of Bewdley.”
