Weave a path to carpet museum
SKILLED volunteers at Kidderminster’s carpet museum will be weaving and spinning for visitors as part of Wool Week.
The week-long event will be held at the Museum of Carpet, Green Street, from tomorrow until Saturday.
It coincides with the Campaign for Wool’s Wool Week which aims to highlight the benefits of using the material.
Fine quality Jacob’s Fleece has been donated to the museum and will be carded, spun and woven by volunteers from the Belbroughton Spinners on hand looms at the facility’s gallery to produce a fine Kidderminster Stuff.
It is hoped a long length of Stuff – a heavy weight, multi-purpose material – will be woven before it is taken off the loom on Saturday, October 19 – exactly one year since the carpet museum opened.
