A POLICE officer based in Kidderminster has been fined for two public order offences committed in Worcester while suspended from duty.
Ben Mullet, 26, who lives in Worcester and is a PC based in Kidderminster, appeared before Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday when he admitted two counts of using threatening, abusive and/or insulting words and behaviour.
He was fined a total of £540, ordered to pay £85 costs and told to pay a £27 victim surcharge.
The charges related to two incidents in the city centre in the early hours of Wednesday, October 9 and Sunday, October 20, when he was involved in confrontations with other males.
On the first occasion he was removed from the scene by police officers after being restrained by a doorman and on the second occasion he was arrested.
PC Mullet committed both offences while already suspended from duty with West Mercia Police pending an internal investigation relating to other matters.
Misconduct proceedings against the officer are ongoing.
