FRIENDS of Kidderminster mum Louise Evans, who was murdered by her cheating husband, have vowed to keep her precious memory alive as they prepare to say a special goodbye.

Her closest pals say the 32-year-old’s death has left a “huge hole” in their lives and they will be holding a memory night this weekend after her childhood sweetheart Alan, 35, was put behind bars for life for her killing.

In the wake of Evans’ sentence, one of Louise’s best friends of 30 years, Michelle Macey, has opened up her album exclusively to The Shuttle and shared her cherished memories of the mother-of-three.

The pictures show Louise enjoying nights out with her friends and as a pupil at Wolverley High School, years before she was found dead at the bottom of the stairs at her Stoney Lane home in July last year.

Mrs Macey also revealed how Louise came to tell her “things weren’t ok” with her marriage just a few weeks before her death, after she had discovered Evans’ affair with classroom assistant Amanda Chadwick.

Mrs Macey sat in the public gallery every day during Evans’ month-long trial and breathed a “sigh of relief” that justice had been done when he was found guilty.

“Louise was beautiful, funny, outgoing, caring and would do anything for anybody,” said Mrs Macey. “She was just great company. She was a fantastic mum and a great friend.

“We grew up together, went to school together and were friends all through school. We were bridesmaids at each other’s weddings.

“She’s godparent to my children and I’m godparent to one of her children. We both went through IVF and we both have twin girls.”

Mrs Macey told how she and Louise became inseparable after meeting at the former Franche First School in September, 1984, along with friends Lorretta Lockwood, Kellie Bingham and Emma Yarsley.

The five girls remained lifelong friends and would often get together for “mothers’ meetings” but now their gatherings are to mark Louise’s birthday, the anniversary of her death and to visit her grave.

“She’s left a huge hole in our lives,” said Mrs Macey. The friends are now looking ahead to remembering Louise at the special memorial event, on Saturday, which will be in the form of a school reunion.

The disco night will feature some of Louise’s favourite songs, such as So Macho by Sinitta, Billy Ocean’s When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going and The Macarena by Los del Rio.

Cash raised on the night, which will also feature a raffle and a video tribute, will go towards a trust fund for Louise’s three daughters to help with their upbringing.

Louise’s family had to wait an agonising 10 months before they could arrange her funeral and so it is hoped the event, organised by Mrs Macey, Ms Yarsley, Lee Poole and Alec Stewart, will help bring some closure to the tragedy.

“When Louise passed away it was a massive, massive shock,” said Mrs Macey, who helped introduce her to Alan. “Some of us were very close to Alan.

“He’s the last person I thought would ever want to do something like that. I stood by him when Louise passed away because I didn’t think he would be capable of it so when he was charged it knocked me for six.

“I was so hurt that he had lied to me so much. I felt so disloyal to Louise for believing his lies.”

Mrs Macey, who arrived home from holiday just hours before Louise was killed, added Louise’s Memory Night is “a night to say goodbye, as we haven’t been able to do this since Louise’s death.”

The event will start at 7.30pm at Kidderminster Harriers Social Club. People can get tickets on the Louise’s Loving Memories facebook page or by emailing Michelle.e8@sky.com
