A NEW late night venue for over 21s will be opening its doors this weekend in Kidderminster.

The Secret Garden and Bar, in New Road, will be serving up cocktails and hosting live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

The venue was given its name as the building used to be a garden centre.

Two opening events will be held on Friday and Saturday to kick-start festivities in Kidderminster.

On Friday, Soultown, a live soul, motown, funk and pop band will perform and house DJs Rhythmic Groove, who will be the bar's weekly residents, along with special guests will be appearing on Saturday.

Lee Perry, in charge of operations, said: “We’re trying to appeal to a totally different crowd. It’s a warehouse feel and a contemporary look.

“I’m really confident that we’re going to get a really good vibe. Hopefully with Christmas coming up, it’ll do well.”

Ten jobs have been created at the venue including door and bar staff and there is a smart and fashionable dress code.

Each Friday night, live music including bands, jazz and soul singers will perform and DJs will take to the stage every Saturday.
