Investigation into Hartlebury A449 scooter crash launched
AN INVESTIGATION into a scooter crash on the A449 at Hartlebury in which a 19 year old was seriously injured has been launched by police.
The incident took place on Tuesday at about 4pm. The man was riding a silver Yamaha scooter along the A449 towards Kidderminster when he was involved in a collision with a grey Toyota Prius at the junction of Worcester Road.
The rider of the scooter - who was previously reported to be 18 - was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester, with serious leg injuries. The driver and passenger in the Prius suffered minor injuries in the collision.
PC Michael Haines is investigating the circumstances of the crash. He said: "As with all collisions where someone has been seriously injured, we will carry out an investigation to establish exactly how that person came by their injuries.
"We're keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the scooter of Prius shortly before the collision happened."
