NEARLY £700 has been raised for a vital land and water rescue service after a bag pack at a Kidderminster supermarket.
Kidderminster Mayor John Campion gave a helping hand to customers at Sainsbury's, Carpet Trades Way, last Saturday and raised £685 for the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).
Half of the money will be given towards Mr Campion's fundraising total as part of his Mayor's charities and the other half will be added to Sainsbury's collection for SARA as one of its charity partners.
Volunteers for SARA ran the fundraising event along with supermarket staff Samantha Buckley and Helen Bower.
Mr Campion said: "I am very grateful to Sainsbury's and their customers for their support to SARA. SARA are a voluntary organisations that rely on public support to carry on their vital work."
