CHARITIES and good causes are being given the chance to apply for funds raised at this year’s Kidderminster Carnival.

Organisers want to hear from any organisation in need of funding to benefit from the fun day, on Saturday June 21.

Dozens of Wyre Forest charities have shared more than £70,000 raised by the current committee over the past 21 years.

Last year’s carnival raised £1,500 for Kidderminster Hospitals League of Friends Scanner Appeal, with SARA and the 1st Kidderminster Boys’ Brigade also receiving donations of £300 and £200 respectively..

In past years, charities including Kemp Hospice, Citizens Advice Bureau, Age Concern, the Girl Guides and Wyre Forest’s Special Olympians have been helped.

Carnival chairman Colin Hill said: “We would like to hear from any charity or good cause that helps people in Wyre Forest, which is in need of support, whether that’s for funding towards running costs or for a specific project or equipment.

“We are a small committee and are looking to help a group that has the capacity to help us raise the funds by helping with events such as the annual duck race and door-to-door programme sales.”
