GRITTERS are on standby to treat roads in Wyre Forest and Worcestershire and more rain is expected.
The Met Office has predicted more rain, wind and low road surface temperatures for the weekend, so Worcestershire County Council so put its gritting teams on alert.
Due to the exceptional rainfall already experienced during the last few weeks, drivers are being reminded any surface water could quickly develop into black ice and are urged to adjust their driving accordingly.
Residents should also be aware of possible localised surface water flooding as well as some general disruption. A council statement said: "As always, the advice remains motorists should not assume roads have been gritted and to temper their driving accordingly."
