Friends of town park create a new footpath

GREEN-fingered residents have started the new year by creating a group to look after a Bewdley park.

They have joined forces to form the Friends of Northwood Lane, which is work ing with Wyre Forest District Council, to improve the area and have already helped maintain a new riverside footpath.

Members have also created a plan to monitor the park on a regular basis for damage , litter or anti-social activities .

A long-term improve ment plan is being developed.

Dave Corbett, chairman, said: “It is great that the community has come together to help improve their open space in this way and anybody that would be interested in joining us would be welcomed."
