THE owner of an electric narrowboat is on the lookout for a partner to get on board and share in the running and development costs of the vessel.

Jonathan Evans, who designed and built the vessel, called Nuera, wants someone to help him develop it further .

The former boat builder wants to make further modifications to the boat, including a full remote control system so it can be driven from anywhere on the boat or the bank but he needs someone to help with the cost.

Mr Evans said: “I want someone to come on board with me. It cost a lot of money to develop it.

I want to carry on developing it and put a remote control on it so it can be dri ven off the river bank without being on the boat.

“I have got some extra ideas but I don ’t want to spend any more money so I want to find someone who can help me develop it further.”

It took Mr Evans a year to build the craft, which is moored outside his Stourport home , four years ago at a cost of £90,000.

The construction and launch was featured on former ITV series Water World and is recognised locally due to four electric thrusters, which allow it go around in a circle.

The design is also different to other conventional narrow- boats, as the sides are straight up, while folding rails on the nearly flat roof provide large sun bathing or picnic area.

It also boasts double-glazed tinted sliding windows and the forward cockpit leads into a saloon through folding patio- style doors, which can be used for picnicking or partying, as well as a bathroom with shower and toilet.
