MORE than 200 rolls of barbed wire worth thousands of pounds were stolen from a Stourport industrial estate.

It happened at Wilden industrial estate between 2.30am and 7.15am on Monday.

The thieves struck at McVeigh Parker, which supplies fencing, farming and equestrian items, and removed a section of metal fencing to drive in a vehicle.

They took 270 rolls of barbed wire, worth £4,500, from an outbuilding.

Some of thewire, which it is believed may have been taken for scrap, was wrapped in green cardboard.
