MORE than 200 rolls of barbed wire worth thousands of pounds were stolen from a Stourport industrial estate.

It happened at Wilden industrial estate between 2.30am and 7.15am on Monday.

The thieves struck at McVeigh Parker, which supplies fencing, farming and equestrian items, and removed a section of metal fencing to drive in a vehicle.

They took 270 rolls of barbed wire, worth £4,500, from an outbuilding.

Some of thewire, which it is believed may have been taken for scrap, was wrapped in green cardboard.

Police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information, including anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the industrial estate in the early hours of Monday, or knows where the barbed wire is now.
