FLOOD warnings remain in place for Bewdley and Stourport.

The River Severn in Bewdley is due to peak between 3.6 and 4 metres this evening, as heavy rain is expected.

The river was recorded at 4.65 metres and falling yesterday afternoon, following a peak level of 5.03 metres on Wednesday evening.

According to the Environment Agency, a flood warning means "flooding is expected, immediate action required".

No Wyre Forest schools have announced any full or partial closures yet but pupils from the district may be affected by the closure of Lindridge St Lawrence's CE Primary School, Lindridge, Tenbury Wells, which has had to close for safety reasons following extreme weather.

The following roads are closed due to flooding, according to Worcestershire County Council:

  • Switchback - Bewdley - Stourport
  • Bewdley Bridge B4195
  • Stourport Road, Bewdley (from junction with Beale's Corner, Stourport Road to junction with Westbourne Street)
  • Lincomb Lane, Stourport

The council has confirmed Baldwin Road (U1132), by Gilgal in Stourport, has now reopened.

The following bus routes are also affected today:

  • 2 / 2A / 2C (Bewdley - Kidderminster): Due to the closure of Bewdley Bridge due to flooding, these services will operate from Kidderminster to Wribbenhall as normal, then divert via Stourport Road and Bewdley Bypass to access the town centre and turn here. These services will therefore operate with significant delays. Due to traffic congestion in the town centre, some peak time journeys are not serving Load Street, turning at Hales Park instead. Service 2 is currently not serving Bewdley Town Centre, turning at Hales Park.
  • 15 (Kidderminster – Stourport – Bewdley) : This service is currently suspended until further notice due to flooding in Bewdley and Stourport. The S15 will still operate from Bewdley High and Stourport High Schools on an amended route.
  • 125 (Stourbridge - Kidderminster - Bewdley - Highley – Bridgnorth) : Due to the closure of Bewdley Bridge due to flooding, this service will operate from Kidderminster to West Midland Safari Park as normal, then divert via Stourport Road and Bewdley Bypass to access the Town Centre. It will then continue operating its normal route towards Bridgnorth.
  • 291 (Tenbury – Bewdley – Kidderminster) : Due to the closure of Bewdley Bridge due to flooding, this service will operate from Kidderminster to West Midland Safari Park as normal, then divert via Stourport Road and Bewdley Bypass to access the Town Centre. It will then turn around and continue operating its normal route towards Tenbury. Currently not serving Bewdley town centre, turning at Hales Park.
  • 292 (Kidderminster – Bewdley – Ludlow) : Due to the closure of Bewdley Bridge due to flooding, this service will operate from Kidderminster to West Midland Safari Park as normal, then divert via Stourport Road and Bewdley Bypass to access the Town Centre. It will then turn around and continue operating its normal route towards Ludlow. Currently not serving Bewdley town centre, turning at Hales Park.
  • 294 / 295 (Worcester – Hallow – Shrawley – Stourport) : Due to flooding at Shrawley this service is currently being diverted from Stourport via Great Witley to Holt Heath. The service is then diverted from Holt Heath via Holt Fleet Bridge – Ombersley – A449 – Ombersley Road – Worcester city centre, omitting Hallow and St. John's, and vice versa. The service will omit Hallow and St. John's. Due to flooding in Stourport this service will not be serving Wilden Lane.
  • 758 (Worcester – Hallow – Great Witley – Tenbury) : This service is operating normal route from Tenbury – Holt Heath, then due to the closure of Worcester city centre Bridge and Hylton Road, this service is then diverting via A4133 Holt Fleet Bridge – Ombersley – A449 – Ombersley Road – Worcester. The same diversion will operate in the opposite direction.
