THOUSANDS of pounds worth of cash and jewellery were stolen during a burglary in Kidderminster.
It happened in Summerhill Avenue between 6pm last Thursday and 6.25am last Friday.
The offenders went through a gate into the rear garden, climbed on a roof above the garage and kitchen and forced a bedroom window.
They stole £1,130 in 20p coins, which were packed in green £10 money bags, £420 in £20 notes, and a further £400 in £20 and £10 notes.
The jewellery taken was an 18 carat gold ring with a platinum mount which had a large central diamond, surrounded by six or seven sapphires and smaller diamonds worth £2,500, a 22 carat gold ring with a large ruby surrounded by diamonds worth £1,000, a £500 18 carat gold ring with two ruby clusters and two 22 carat gold plain wedding bands.
Also taken was a George III copper penny dating from 1800.
House to house inquiries have been carried out and leaflets letting residents of the area know about the burglary have been delivered.
