WYRE Forest Crematorium will go head to head with other new and regenerated projects in the West Midlands vying for a gong that celebrates excellence in the built environment.

It is one of 48 projects that have been shortlisted in the RICS West Midlands Awards and will battle it out in the commercial and design-through-innovation categories.

The winners will then be invited to represent the West Midlands and compete against projects from across the rest of the UK at the overall RICS Awards in London.

Jennifer Welch, director of RICS North and Midlands, said: “The quality of entries received this year is truly outstanding and clearly demonstrates the fantastic work being carried out by property professionals.

“There is a wealth and variety of inspirational new projects and regenerated developments and I am sure it will be a chal - lenging judging process.”

The awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment, celebrating the achievements of professionals working in both the built and natural environment.

Judging for the awards will take place during the spring and the RICS West Midlands Awards ceremony will be held at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre on Thursday, May 15.
