History group to discuss the real Dad's Army

First published in News

THE real Dad's Army will be the subject of the Wyre Forest Historical Research Group's next talk.

The talk by Malcolm Atkin will take place in the Corn Exchange in Kidderminster Town Hall on Tuesday, March 11 at 2pm.

Publicity Officer Gay Hill said: "We have all been entertained by the BBC TV series Dad's Army.

"Malcolm will tell the story behind the real Dad's Army, actually called the Local Defence Volunteers, set up by Winston Churchill in 1940 to act as observers more than anything. I am sure that this will be a most entertaining and informative talk."
