A PRINCESS and a magician will be among the unusual visitors invited to a Kidderminster store in a bid to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

TK Maxx, in Weavers Wharf, will be hosting a charity event each Saturday in March as well as collecting bags of unwanted clothing and homeware for the store's nationwide Help Beat Kids' Cancer Sooner campaign.

Each event will see a special guest visit the store to entertain children and provide a photo opportunity between approximately 10am and 4pm.

Tomorrow and on Saturday, March 22, two magicians will be conjuring up funds for charity.

Saturday, March 15 will see a princess visit the store and Saturday, March 29, the animal man will be bringing his creepy critters along.

Staff will also be holding fancy dress days and encouraging shoppers to donate £1 at the tills.

Local businesses and schools have also been collecting bags of donations including clothing, homeware and ornaments to help the store meet its target of 413 bags.

Mark Mountford, charity champion for the store, said: "We raise money for Red Nose Day one year and then Cancer Research the next.

"It's something we really focus on as a company. We've been with Cancer Research for nearly 10 years, we're the biggest company that work with them and have raised £13.5 million across the country since 2004."

Shoppers can also drop off their bags of donations in store.
