THE Classical Music Society will be holding its first rebranded live music event at Kidderminster Town Hall.

International concert pianist Mark Bebbington will be performing a programme of music by Haydn, Chopin and John Ireland as well as Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata on Friday, March 28 as part of Classical Music Live!

Mark is a local artist living just down the road in Hagley but is also a well-established and international pianist having performed throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

He will soon be embarking on a series of recitals at prestigious venues in North America and his recordings are regularly featured on both Radio 3 and Classic FM.

Society chairman Graham Kiteley said: "This recital will give patrons the opportunity of hearing the Steinway Model B piano in its new location and in the repertoire with which the Society has become justly associated for many years.

"The society is hoping that this recital will renew the previous support for quality music-making in the area and that it might be encouraged to make early arrangements for a new series of recitals by professional artists later in 2014 or in 2015."

The Classical Music Society, which was originally formed as the New Music Society in 1968, presented Music from the Gallery for 15 years before it was turned into office space in 2012. The Steinway piano was relocated to Kidderminster Town Hall and has been used by Kidderminster Male Voice Choir and Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra.
