A WOMAN was taken to hospital with facial injuries after colliding with a tree while horse riding in Kidderminster yesterday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was called to Bissell Wood Equestrian Centre just after 1pm.

A WMAS spokesman said: "Due to the woodland location, crews had to leave the ambulance at the roadside and continue the journey on foot.

"On arrival crews found a woman, believed to be 30 years old, who had collided with a tree while on a horse.

"She was assessed and treated at the scene for a suspected fractured jaw and broken teeth.

"After immobilising the woman, ambulance crews worked closely with the fire service to carefully transport her to the waiting ambulance and she was conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment. "
