A FAMILY-owned Stourport business has won a prestigious national award.

Peter Handley Stationery, based in Mitton Street, was named overall winner of the Office Friendly Dealer Association (OFDA) 2013 UK dealer of the year award.

The award recognises those businesses who have used OFDA’s services to positively impact their performance.

Peter Handley marketing manager, Emma Taylor, said: “We were absolutely overwhelmed when the final award was announced and it was Peter Handley. We were all just in total shock.”

The firm started as a supplies business and has grown to source business and educational products from around the world.

Managing director Paul Liggins added: “To be nominated when you’re up against over 200 members nationally is an honour but to be selected as the overall winner of such a prestigious industry award is fantastic and testament to the dedication our team continues to put in to support our customers.

“Our business is dependent on service, so to be chosen above so many others is just simply fantastic for the business.”
