A SEMINAR is being held in Kidderminster for people to find out more about caring for dementia sufferers.

Care UK, a health and social care service provider, will be hosting the seminar at Brook Court care home, in Oldnall Road, on Friday, April 11, from 11am to 12.30pm.

Maizie Mears-Owen, head of dementia care at Care UK, will be sharing her knowledge and providing practical guidance for people caring for someone living with dementia.

After the event, Ms Mears-Owen will be on hand to answer any questions and there will be an opportunity for members of the public to meet the carers at Brook Court.

Home manager Linda Clements, said: "At Care UK, we understand being armed with plenty of expert advice and information can make all the difference for those caring for loved ones living with dementia.

"By hosting a seminar on the subject, we can ensure this information is communicated clearly and concisely, with visitors having the opportunity to speak directly to the professionals in this area as well as team members from the care home.”

Dementia affects 820,000 people in the UK and 25 million people have a close friend or family member living with the condition.
