THE new season for the Bewdley Local Produce market starts this weekend.

The market is held on the first Sunday of the month from April through to December, and focuses on local food as part of a wider initiative to support local food producers and encourage people to grow and buy local quality food.

The first market of the new season will be held on Sunday from 10am.

Most of the stallholders are based within 10 miles of Bewdley offering a range of local meat, pies, vegetables, cakes, preserves, drinks and hot food.

Organisers said holding the Sunday market in its traditional location in Load Street was popular with residents and visitors, bringing added interest and vibrancy to the town centre.

Peter Miller, of Bewdley Development Trust, said: “ We have some new stallholders lined up for the next few markets.

"We are always looking for opportunities to develop the range of quality local food and would ask anybody interested to get in touch with us.”
